Fireworks
The city’s fireworks show is on the Fourth of July, over the ocean at the Fisher Family Pier; see our Fourth of July fireworks page. For New Year’s Eve, the city’s events calendar lists no show as of Oct. 10.
Backyard fireworks: Florida law, section 791.08 of the Florida Statutes, allows the use of fireworks “solely and exclusively” on three designated holidays: New Year’s Eve, Dec. 31, New Year’s Day, Jan. 1, and Independence Day, July 4. The law does not override local government rules, and a fireworks ban in a properly recorded homeowners’ association covenant still applies. Check your HOA documents before you buy.
