Public notices tell you about hearings, rezonings, budgets, bids, tax sales and elections before decisions are made. In Florida they appear in a newspaper and on the statewide notice website, or, for some local governments, on a county notice website. Here is where to look for notices that affect Pompano Beach.

How Florida publishes legal notices
Under section 50.0211, Florida Statutes, a legal notice printed in a newspaper must also appear on that newspaper’s website, and the newspaper must post it on the statewide site FloridaPublicNotices.com, run by the Florida Press Association. The statewide site is searchable and keeps an archive, and you can sign up there for alerts.
Florida law also lets local governments publish some notices on a county website instead, under section 50.0311. In Broward that site is BrowardCountyLegalNotices.com. When we checked on Oct. 10, it had pages for Broward County Public Schools, the North Broward Hospital District, Deerfield Beach, Lauderdale-by-the-Sea and other agencies, but no page for the City of Pompano Beach. The City Clerk’s office, which processes the city’s legal advertising, can tell you where a given city notice runs.
