How admission works

From the school’s enrollment process page:

  • Open enrollment runs Feb. 1 to April 30. Every application received in that window has the same chance, whether it arrives on the first day or the last.
  • Lottery: if applications exceed the seats in a grade, a random lottery is held May 1, and the school notifies families within two weeks. Selected families have seven business days to return paperwork; others go on a waitlist by grade.
  • Preferences: siblings of enrolled students, children of founding board members and children of school employees.
  • After open enrollment, the school keeps taking applications through a monthly lottery for the waitlist. It does not admit students first come, first served.

Enrollment and teachers

  • District count: 370 students on Aug. 21, 2026, the 10th day of the 2026-27 school year. That is 27 fewer than on the same day in 2025, according to the district’s Tenth Day Enrollment Count.
  • Federal count: 439 students in the 2023-24 school year, with 25 full-time-equivalent teachers, according to the NCES directory. That works out to about 18 students per teacher.
