Pompano Beach’s public schools belong to Broward County Public Schools, the countywide district run by the School Board of Broward County. The city does not run schools. Eighteen graded public schools have a Pompano Beach address: 11 district elementary schools, three charter schools, two middle schools and two high schools. Some students in the city’s west and north ends are zoned to schools in neighboring cities, so check your address.

Finding your school and registering
Students attend the school whose boundary includes their home. Start from the district’s Register My Child page, which has the school boundary locator. The district’s registration checklist asks for:
- Proof of residence. Owners and renters bring one document from each list: a property tax bill, homestead card, deed, mortgage statement, purchase contract or notarized lease; plus a utility bill, phone bill, Florida driver’s license or ID, car registration or similar. Families sharing a home use a notarized Affidavit of Shared Residence.
- School records, such as the latest report card, or a signed release so the school can request them.
- A medical exam within the past 12 months for a first-time Florida public school student.
- Florida Certificate of Immunization (Form DH 680).
A child is enrolled temporarily if paperwork is missing, and the family has 30 days to bring it.

Pompano Beach High earned 80% of possible points and reported a 100% graduation rate for 2024-25, the measure the state uses in high school grades. Blanche Ely High’s graduation rate was 95%. Eight schools improved by at least one letter grade from 2025; Blanche Ely High fell from A to C, and Cresthaven Elementary from B to C.
