Charter schools

Charter schools are tuition-free public schools sponsored by the district and run by their own governing boards. They have no attendance zones: families apply to each one, and schools with more applicants than seats use a lottery, as each school’s page explains.

School Address Grades Students, Aug. 21, 2026 2026 state grade How to get in
Andrews High School 3500 N. Andrews Ave. 9-12 262 Not graded; report card Enroll

District centers

Three district centers with Pompano Beach addresses serve students by placement, not by zone, so they have no pages of their own here: Bright Horizons (3901 NE First Terrace, 156 students on Aug. 21) and Cross Creek School (1010 NW 31st Ave., 57 students), both exceptional student education centers, and Cypress Run Education Center (2800 NW 30th Ave., 102 students), an alternative school.

Enrollment by school

Horizontal bar chart of students at each Broward County district school serving Pompano Beach on Aug. 21, 2026, in alphabetical order, from 382 at Sanders Park Elementary to 2,226 at Monarch High

District schools only, from the district’s Tenth Day Enrollment Count. Eighteen of the 19 had fewer students than on the same day in 2025; Charles Drew Elementary gained 20. Blanche Ely, Crystal Lake Middle, Charles Drew, Norcrest, Sanders Park and Tedder are on the district’s 2026-27 list of schools enrolled below 70% of their permanent capacity, part of its Redefining Our Schools review. None of the proposals presented Oct. 6 would close a Pompano Beach school; one would send students from Lloyd Estates Elementary in Oakland Park to Cypress Elementary.

Private schools
