Easter 2027 is Sunday, March 28. The city has not announced its 2027 egg hunts. In 2026, Pompano Beach Parks and Recreation ran two ticketed egg hunts on Saturday, March 28, 2026, the week before Easter that year: an underwater egg dive for children and a flashlight egg hunt for teens and adults. Both are below so you can plan for this year.

The egg dive
Children jump into the pool together at the start of their session and collect as many floating and underwater eggs as they can find, then trade them for a goodie bag; a special egg wins a bigger prize. The 2026 sessions:
- Ages 3-5: 9 to 9:45 a.m.
- Ages 6-9: 10:30 to 11:15 a.m.
- Ages 10-13: noon to 12:45 p.m.
All three sessions sold out in 2026. There was also a “Lifeguard Bunny” for photos, sidewalk chalk and coloring sheets on the pool deck.
The flashlight hunt
Gates opened at 7 p.m. with food, games and a DJ. The teen hunt started at 8 p.m., followed by the adults-only hunt, with candy and prize eggs. Flashlights were provided; guests brought their own baskets. Teens 13 to 16 needed a parent or guardian with them, and every adult needed a paid ticket. Tickets were sold through Eventbrite.

What is open
Easter Sunday is not on the city’s list of holiday closures, and City Hall is closed on Sundays anyway. The city says garbage and recycling are collected every day except Thanksgiving and Christmas, so pickup runs normally. See our trash and recycling page.
