Pompano Beach has no long greenway inside the city; its walking and riding happens on park tracks, the largest at Community Park and the Air Park, plus the beachfront promenade by the pier. All city parks are open sunrise to sunset.

The Air Park Jogging Track sits beside the Pompano Beach Air Park on NE 10th Street, a few blocks from Community Park, so the two make an easy pairing. Park page.
The beach promenade
A paved promenade with sculpted benches runs along the beach around the Fisher Family Pier and the Great Lawn at Atlantic Boulevard and Pompano Beach Boulevard. It is a walk, not a bike path, and it is busiest on weekends and during events. The city rebuilt NE 2nd Street (Pier Street West) between A1A and Riverside Drive with new sidewalks and lighting in 2023, according to the city’s Community Redevelopment Agency.
Parking: the Pier Parking Garage, 3460 NE 3rd St.; self-park on floors 2 to 4. See our pier and Fishing Village guide.
Neighborhood walks
Smaller parks with benches on the water make good walking stops:
- Indian Mound Park, 1232 Hibiscus Ave., benches on the water; dog friendly.
- Alsdorf Park, 2901 NE 14th St., 10 acres on the Intracoastal with a boat dock.
- Lake Santa Barbara Park, 2290 SE 7th St., benches.
- Scott Winters Memorial Park, 1199 N. Riverside Drive, benches.
Getting there without a car
The free, on-demand Pompano Circuit shuttle serves the beach area; details are on the city’s Circuit page and our getting around guide. Community Park lists bike racks, and Roy L. Rogers Family Park and Marine Drive Park have them too.
Nature trails nearby
Broward County runs larger nature parks just outside the city, including Fern Forest Nature Center in neighboring Coconut Creek and Quiet Waters Park in neighboring Deerfield Beach. Trail maps, hours and any fees are on Broward County Parks’ website.
